(BDL, also known as Hartford-Springfield Airport), located in the northern
part of Connecticut. BDL is the closest major airport to New Haven and is
convenient for most domestic destinations and some international flights via
connections (i.e., United Airlines, NW Airlines, Delta Airlines).
] (JFK) is frequently used for direct international flights to and from
Europe and Asia. It is about two hours from New Haven.
](LGA) is about the same distance from New Haven as JFK and is convenient
for domestic flights.

(EWR) in northern New Jersey, to the south of New York City, offers many
international and domestic flights, but it is the furthest from New Haven
and the least convenient. Please note that if you fly into Newark and take
the train from the airport into New York City, you will arrive at
Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan and must travel uptown via subway or cab
to the other train station, Grand Central Station, to take the MetroNorth
commuter train to New Haven (see below)
There are several ways of
transferring from the above airports to New Haven. Below is some general
information.
offers frequent van and bus service from all four airports to New Haven.
Please see its web page for specific information about fares, schedules, and
bookings. CT Limo has a terminal in downtown New Haven. On arrival in New
Haven, it is necessary to take a short cab ride (about $5-$7) to the
conference hotels.
is a smaller company that offers van service to and from JFK and LGA. It is
a few dollars more expensive than CT Limo but it will take you directly to
the hotel. Please see the Prime Time web site (Connecticut page) for details
about booking a van ride.
New Haven is served both by
the national
Amtrak [http://www.amtrak.com/]
railroad and by the New York City metropolitan commuter service,
MetroNorth. [http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/mnr/]
Both train lines stop at New Haven Station, which is a short cab ride to both
conference site and hotel (about $5-$7).
Please note,
however, that Amtrak and MetroNorth operate from different stations in New
York City. The Amtrak station is Pennsylvania Station (31st-33rd Streets at
Seventh Avenue) and the MetroNorth station is Grand Central Station
(42nd-44th Streets between Vanderbuilt and Park Avenues). Anyone coming from
Manhattan is strongly advised to use the MetroNorth New Haven line. Service
is much more frequent and much less expensive than Amtrak trains. See the
MetroNorth web site for schedule and fare details.
For those planning to drive to
the Conference, the following maps should provide sufficient directions. The
Holiday Inn offers low-cost parking for guests, and those driving may wish to
leave their cars at the hotel and walk to the Sage Hall conference site.
Metered parking is available on Prospect Street. All Yale University
parking lots are also available for non-stickered parking AFTER 4:00 PM
Friday.
